First of all...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! if you are in the Philippines where Christmas starts on when the month sounds "ber" at the end. Yes, its the season everyone is waiting for, the time has come for us to get ready to immigrate to a distant land just to hide from our inaanaks (godchildren) and stock on gifts and other treats.

But there is also a deeper meaning for this season as we also remember an event in our generation that goes down in history forever. The September 11 attacks that happened a decade ago was intensified with its broadcast all over the world. This marked the start of the World War, secretly that is. Today we have celebrated winnning moments of our Kababayans like Shamcey Supsop in the Miss Universe Pageant in Brazil, earning the 3rd runner up and in the Top 5. 


Also we placed in the top 10 of the Finalists of the Karaoke World Championship in Kilarney, Ireland. Also the same with the Philippine Dragon Boat and Rugby Team. And when everything is going to the right direction, BAM!


Incidents of shooting inside malls appeared last week  with a friece wifeand just today when a teenage boy love turned deadly. Plus there is a bill pushed in congress against planking, and now trending in twitter world wide. Pushed by Anti-Planking Congresssman Winnie Castelo. It says on the bill found in his website:

AN ACT PRESCRIBING A UNIVERSAL CODE OF STUDENT CONDUCT WHEREBY PLANKING BY A STUDENT OR GROUP OF STUDENTS DURING STREET RALLIES OR SIMILAR PROTEST ACTIONS AS A FORM OF REDRESS OF GRIEVANCE BE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND APPLYING APPROPRIATE SANCTIONS THEREOF

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. This Act shall be known as the “Anti-Planking Act of 2011”.
SEC. 2. A universal Code of Student Conduct is hereby prescribed where planking as a form of redress of grievance be strictly prohibited and appropriate sanctions be applied for violations thereof.
SEC. 3. Under this Act, planking is when a student or group of students lies face down in unusual locations especially in streets or other public places, keeping the hands along the body and the feet outstretched and especially where such act is meant as a form of redress of grievance against government.
SEC. 4 Every bonafide student from any school, college or university shall conduct himself with high degree of discipline and propriety.
SEC. 5. The Department of Education in the case of elementary and high school students and the Commission on Higher Education in the case of college students shall draft a universal Code of Student Conduct to carry out the provisions of this Act.
Further, DepEd and CHED, respectively shall issue appropriate rules and regulations to effectively carry out intent and purpose of this Act.
SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect ninety (90) days after its publication in the Official Gazette and in at least three (3) newspapers of general circulation.

Amidst the many problems of the Philippines, our solons are more concerned about protesters facing down and in a plank position than pass bills against poverty and corruption. Seriously, we are looking at lawmakers more concerned about treason and student protesters. If Planking is something bad, it hurts your ego, makes the economy fall, gives you bad grades, makes your penis small, but it doesn't. That is why we then say to you dear congressman...
