Smash Project 2012 will feature pop punk band from Utah, The Used. Founded in 2001, this four-piece actrose to fame after the release of their self-titled album in June 2002with such talent that earns them a following globally. Their musical style is composed of raunchy rhythm and powerful riffs made impressive by a solid vocal delivery by Bert McCracken. The Used current band members are Bert McCracken (vocals), Quinn Allman (guitar, backing vocals), Jeph Howard (bass) and Dan Whiteside (drums).

Boasting a hard-rocking concert line-up is the American alternative rock band Dashboard Confessional. Marking their second visit to the country, Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carraba has melted the hearts of every Filipino with hits like “Belle of the Boulevard”, “Stolen” and many more. Dashboard Confessional has been called often as the “grandfather of emo-pop” and has been a staple in most music playlist.

Dashboard Confessional contributed musical scores for some known Hollywood motion pictures such as “Vindicated” for the film Spiderman 2. The band has been around for almost 12 years and their rock ballads-- with plenty of heartache to spare-- have won over several crowds.

Taking the stage into the dance floor is the synthpop band Cobra Starship composed of Gabe Saporta (lead vocals), Ryland Blackinton (guitars), Alex Suarez (bass), Nate Novarro (drums) and Elisa Schwartz (keytarist). This is the band’s second visit in the country having already performed before the Filipino crowd at Ayala Malls. Their equally infectious single “Good Girls Go Bad” featuring Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester gave them worldwide commercial success. Cobra Starship musical style is mostly pop with punk rock influence which became appealing to young urban professionals as well teenagers. Their new single “You Make Me Feel…” featuring Sabi has already hit the airwaves and is predicted to top their worldwide hit “Good Girls Go Bad”.

Hailed by Alternative Press magazine as “The Band You Need to Know 2008”, The Cab came in strong in the music industry. Formed in 2008, the band is composed of Alexander de Leon (lead vocals), Alex Marshall (piano, guitar) and Joey Thunder bass). The Cab is a pop-rock band with an ‘emo’ edge,

accompanied by upbeat and catchy guitar riffs backed by a versatile vocal delivery of Alex De Leon.  It’s no wonder that they were able to turn the heads of music lovers into their direction. Joining the talented foreign acts on stage, OPMs most-sought after bands Chicosci, Urbandub, Typecast and Slapshock will definitely complete an unforgettable concert experience.
