REEL DEAL Movies and Television: My House Husband Ikaw Na! Spotlight with Direk Joey Reyes

The Metro Manila Film Fest is just more or less 50 days away and yet there are now hints of the movies that will be shown for the festival. One of which is MY HOUSE HUSBAND IKAW NA! by OctoArts Films starring Ryan Agoncillo, Judy Ann Santos, and Eugune Domingo. Members of its cast include Francine Prieto, Bobby Andrews, Shalala, and many more. It is written by Mel Del Rosario and directed by Jose Javier Reyes.


With so many people in the showbiz industry, he proved to be a person of passion and love of the industry, now directing a great family comedy with Ryan Agoncillo, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Eugene Domingo makes it a must watch movie for the MMFF.



We had a chance to have a chat with Direk Joey Reyes about the film and also some other interesting questions that he fearlessly answered. About the film, he pointed out that this is different from the couple's past movie "Kasal, Kasali..." and "Sakal Sakali...".  Its also the comeback movie of Judy Ann after giving birth to Yohan. Though there are restrictions due to Juday's condition , he  had no major problems during the shoot. 


He emphasized that this movie focuses on the role fo Ryan as a House husband which mirrors the situation of today's household (with the women going to work and maids leaving is growing pretty common ) which gives its a reality check and makes it really interesting.


Now still in its filming stage, Direk Joey gave us the feel the movie would be like and why everyone should watch. P.S. Some interesting points I picked up during the interview, I asked if he would make a film about comics what will it be. He answered he would like to do TRESE by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldismo. He also worked with Lino Brocka and loves going places alone so he can get ideas for writing and of course socializing. He plans making a mature film in the future breaking out from his usual genre. And he never gets tired of talking especially when in the mood. We loved the time he spent on us and hope to see him in future events.
